Jeep Provides S.A.F.E. Return For Troops

Two American vehicle manufacturers will be forever linked with our military, Harley-Davidson and Jeep. With their ties to military history, both go beyond what they have provided on the battleground to provide for out troops once the return. Last November we told you about what Harley is doing, and here is what Jeep is doing for our heroes to welcome them home.

Operation-SAFE-Return-in-TennesseeJeeps throughout history have kept our troops safe on the battlefield, but now that are keeping them safe once they return home. The Jeep® brand has established the S.A.F.E. Return fund to provide both financial and in-kind aid as well as hands-on support for our returning troops through an integrated partnership with the USO. This platform allows them to give support where it is needed, throughout the transition to home, work and health. The Jeep® brand has created the S.A.F.E. Return Fund from the sale of every 2013 Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler Unlimited and Patriot Freedom Edition vehicle. This $250 per vehicle will be donated to the USO to help support the platform to aid our nation’s heroes as they come home.

The S.A.F.E. Return program has four parts which comprise the initials of SAFE.

  • Secure Transport – A provision of Jeep® vehicles to be utilized at USO centers for the transport of troops and supplies as needed.
  • Aid for Transition – The Jeep® brand will assist in their reintegration process through a veteran employment initiative as well as a military incentive toward the purchase of a Jeep vehicle.
  • Freedom Adventures -Through homecoming celebrations as well as other lighthearted engagements, the Jeep® brand will provide a much needed hiatus for our troops.
  • Enduring Care – Support for the USO continuum of care to assist the wounded, ill and injured troops as well as their families and caregivers in achieving a full and rewarding life.

militaryUnder the Aid piece, troops who are Active, Active Reserved, Retired Military, Retired Military Reserve or are an honorably discharged veteran within six months of discharge date are eligible for up to $500 in bonus cash under their Military Incentive program. The offer applies to 2013 model year vehicle purchases and leases on all new vehicles (excludes SRT® models).

That means if you are you are military Jeep would essentially provide $750 to you, $500 in purchasing incentive and then $250 to the S.A.F.E. Return program that you could further take advantage of.

More details on all the things Jeep does for heroes can be found here. It is always great to see American companies give back to America, it is the final cycle of the Made In America movement – buy American and the money comes back to us somehow – in jobs, or as in Harley and Jeep – in support for American cause – perhaps the most noble cause, supporting our heroes.
