Summerfest – Milwaukee’s music festival at the lakefront touted as ‘the world’s largest music festival’ – starts tomorrow, June 27, and though there is an admission price, every year they offer ways to get in for free. Sometimes it has been sporadic, but for the last few years every day has a way to get in free. Some are promotions by companies, but most days the way to get in free is to make a donation to a worthy cause.
Most of these promotions are only applicable for a short time when it opens each day, but if you are lucky enough to work downtown or have the day off and can head down early, you can get wristbands to leave and re-enter the festival if you want to take a break and come down later for a headliner. The wristbands are available at all gate areas from Noon until 6:30 pm daily. Re-entry wristbands will be valid for a single, same day re-entry until 7:00 pm. No re-entry wristbands will be issued after 6:30 pm and there are no re-entries after 7:00 pm.
All of the promotions are listed here, but below are all of the days that support a non-profit.
