Great Outdoors Week June 11-17

Saturday, June 11 marks the beginning of Great Outdoors Week, the focus of June being Great Outdoors Month – a time to celebrate and pay attention to outdoor recreation and the physical and mental health benefits it provides to all.

Great Outdoors Month highlights the benefits of active fun outdoors and our magnificent shared resources of forests, parks, refuges, and other public lands and waters.

So get outside this weekend and the following week to enjoy the parks of your city, county, state or even nation and remember that those spaces are only there due to the work of conservationists who watch our forests, waterways, and other natural spaces.

About K9vin

I have been a volunteer for the humane treatment of animals in the Milwaukee area for 10 years as well as our parks system including founding the friends group for off-leash dog parks and a volunteer for The Park People. I was born in and raised near Milwaukee and have pride in the city. I want to be one of the people always striving to make Milwaukee better, starting with getting other men involved in their community.
